jury duty ftl

I have been scheduled to serve my civic duty.

I know people who haven't been called for jury duty until their 40's and here I am, 19. ghey.

So I have a few questions for all you people who have had it. If you were called, did you end up having to serve? Part two: If you did end up serving, how long did it last for?

Anyone others thoughts and diddlings on the subject?

I've been called twice and got out of it twice. It's really simple which is what scares me the 12 who make it are either too stupid to get off or they have a gung ho since of duty.

I was called upon once.

I was out of the country during the scheduled time and was cleared...then when I came home a few months later I got called upon again! I then pulled a no call no show. I have a solid arguement since I am no longer living in that area....I should have called again though. Oh well.

the first case I got off because I owned my business and it was less than 3 years old. The second I made it to see the judge I wasn't put under oath, the judge asked if anyone had conflicting feelings on the case and I said I did it was a case dealing with posession of methamphetamines, I told the judge I have a very deep seeded hate of all meth heads. He asked if the def. or prosec. had any issue with me being dismissed, they didn't I went downstairs and picked up my check for $30, I had only been there about an hour. I made $30 in an hour just sitting and waiting to say a few words.

So since you didn't call or show did anything happen because of that?

So I have to fill out this final paper and report tommarow. The last questions is like, "Is there anything from your history, eductation, knowledge, or beliefs that might hinder you from being a fair and impartial juror." This has yet to be filled out...trying to think of something good to stick in there. Help please?

I've been called twice. Served on Civil Trials both times. Each lasted 1 week.

Criminal cases can take much longer depending on the severity of the crime and the amount of cash the defendant has to throw at a defense team.

I'm only 19, I have never heard of any of my friends having to serve, hopefully they prefer not to choose us children.

I'm curious... why so negative against serving on Jury Duty? This is one of the single most important eliments of our judicial system.

Serving n a Jury and passing judgement over another person's life is a pretty awesome responcibility but it's nothing to run away from.

My experience as a Jurer was very rewarding.

Because it will screw up my routine.

Actually I think it might be interesting, but I don't want to get stuck as a juror for several weeks.

If I wasn't on a diet/training regimen I'd be all for it.

I got called on when I was 19 too. Sat there for like 5 hours in the same chair, and eventually didn't have to serve. But waiting was a bitch.

Every time they ask you a question, end every one of your responses with "according to the prophecy"
