As long as you don't lay on the "casting couch'' I would say go for it.

It's funny that you should say this. I was an extra in Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey. I was in the scene where the bad guy (who's actually a really nice guy in real life) gets arrested at the end of the movie.

I was in a indie film called The Stone cutter. It was long hours and no pay. It was fun to do though.

I was sitting just to the right of the cage. The shot was done over and over (about 10 times). The final cut only shows my arm. There's a shot from the right side of the cage (from the front). Just behind the cage you can see my arm (we were cheering and waving our arms). Oh well...

You don't get paid for being an extra. You just get to be in the movie and get some free food. If you clock enough hours as an extra, you qualify for SEG (Screen Extras Guild). If you clock enough time in SEG you qualify for SAG (Screen Actors Guild). That's about it.

Oh well. That is still cool though.

Don't you get a vote for the Academy awards if you are in the SEG?
