BigBeutifulWomen/Men BBWs are becoming accepted in society

There's a program on TV (UK) documenting an American beauty contest... for Big Beautiful Women aka BBWs. The contestant have to be a size 18 or over to compete.

I have noticed, at least where I live, there are a lot of obese people around. So many say 'I've tried every diet so I now I just accept it' or 'Don't judge me' etc....

There has been debate whether GPs should also act as dietitians in the UK to help combat the problem.

Is anyone else feeling uneasy with this gradual progression of acceptance that being considerably overweight is now acceptable?

How as a society can we try and stop this (soon to be) explosion in diabetes, cancer, and heart disease?

I love it when a plan comes together.

Male, Female, it doesn't matter. All fat people need to either become low-fat members of society or they should be forced to fight to the death (with the winner eating the loser) in a gladiatorial arena.

That way, we don't have a slew of fat people weighing down America. Just one, big, fat person. Who could be a tourist attraction, making money for society, thereby being productive.

After all the fat people are gone we can get the smokers to battle as well.

If we got rid of medicare Im sure alot of people would change their lifestyles in a hurry, cause the biggest reality check is when it hits your wallet.

I don't like it. I don't think people are smart enough or just don't care about their health anymore. Given that, I don't know how we can stop the explosion of health problems associated with obesity. I can tell you how we won't fix it - by glorifying it through fat people beauty contests.

That makes sense to a point, and I agree with not liking it, but the truth is that those skinny bean pole models dont look healthy either and glorify throwing up and being bulimic...know what I mean?

its kind of a double edged sword?

Yeah, glorifying underweight people, bulimic people, etc. is bad. It was not the topic at hand however. Also, you can be skinny and be perfectly healthy, and if people glorify that I don't see a problem. It is just some people try to "cheat" to get that way and develop a disorder.

I don't like girls who are too skinny, meaning below their ideal weight.

Food, in the UK, isn't that cheap. I eat healthily, but have a high food bill.

Cheap food is typically fattier, more processed, and 'more satisfying'. Put a pizza or a chicken ceasar salad infront of the average joe, and we know what they will typically choose.

I love it when a plan comes together.

Isn't it also funny how people try to argue that they have no control over how they look. This goes beyond body fat. People always say stupid shit like "don't judge a book by its cover." You always see someone on TV complaining about being treated badly for how they look, then they have pink hair and 14 facial piercings.

I personally believe that the way someone looks is an outward manifestation of what is on the inside. If you have 14 facial piercings, and you purposefully look like a freak, you most likely are a freak. If you are morbidly obese, you are most likely a lazy glutton with no self respect.
