So last friday there was a sale going on on an online retailer website. I thought they didn't accept paypal anymore due to some problems w/ them, so I attempted to withdraw the money from my paypal account to my bank account.
I realized within 5 minutes later that I did the exact OPPOSITE. Being that I have a Premier Account I called them up and told them the error. They told me that they couldn't stop it once it started (I call bullshit) and if my account has less than the amount requested, it will just be denied. I also called my bank to make sure they didn't accept the transfer, but they said they couldn't do it w/ an automated withdraw. I find out on sunday that my ****ing account is overdrawn because of this not ONCE, but THREE times (three individial overdraft charges) because the paypal withdraw went first and then ****ing charges for the grocery store ($2 for envelopes, and $11 for groceries). I am so ****ing furious now and my bank said that I could have requested to not accept the automated withdrawl, but a few days ago they said I couldnt! I got refunded ONE of the overdraft charges, but I still have two more. Any dvice guys? I'm frustrated b/c of this shit. |

I sell tons of shit on ebay, so I absolutely have to allow paypal to have access to my bank account if I ever want to make sales.
Not once, but twice, paypal has caused me to have to take off from work, go to the bank, and straighten out the damage they did when their shitty service fucked up and charged my account for shit I didn't buy. My bank is cool, so they always allow me to do chargebacks, which basically gives paypal the finger, and allows you to collect your money that day instead of waiting for paypal to fix the mistake. I hate paypal, but they kind of have me by the balls, if I want to continue to sell stuff on ebay. |

I do not see the problem with PayPal, rather I see it as user error.

No offense dude but seams like you're pissed at everyone else for your own mistakes. I use PayPal too, but not from my primary account AND not even from the same bank where I do all my major banking, but rather at a separate bank. PayPal is a tool with issues ... correct your lines of defense to effectively prevent their issues from becoming your issues.
1) Go to another bank and set up an account without overdraft protection. 2) Charge ALL PayPal payments to debit card with a Master Card/Visa Logo. 3) Only keep enough funds to cover what you are going to purchase with PayPal in that account. 4) Relax. Normally there is a $2 fee when an account is attempting to be charged from a debit card with insufficient funds BUT since you already killed the overdraft option there are no overdraft fees AND your money stays in your control. PayPal rocks when you get scamed on eBay. Been screwed twice and becaus I used PayPal I was refunded my money. eBay bought out PayPal a while back and changed the rules a bit but mostly for the better. Hope this helps ...
