    Top 5 War Movies

    In no particular order:
platoon-- That scene where Defoe gets shot in the fields was sad, also like the part where the sing along with the Smokey Robinson song.

Saving Private Ryan-- When they land on the beach....pretty awesome. Hanks was good and so was that guy from the Fast and Furious.

Apocalypse Now--''I love the smell of Naplam..'' Classic

Full Metal Jacket-- "5'9''..I didn't know they stacked shit that high" " The best part of you ran down the crack of your momma's ass"

The Longest Day-- What a cast of stars.

War movies are unrealistic and oversimplied, and arrogant.

I watch them don't get me wrong.

But the bravado makes the killing and raping and napalmin look like a football game.

    It isn't.

Although it was a HBO mini-series and "technically" not a movie, I'd have to tip my hat to "Band of Brothers" somewhere in the list.

The Deer Hunter is probably my favorite. I love that movie. I would say Braveheart too but I don't really consider that a war movie.
