Yes, because by suspending civil liberties, we are letting the terrorists win. I mean, we are protecting ourselves from them.

I believe it's a reason to keep closer tabs on what happens in everyday society, therefore civil liberties will suffer. In a sense there is a fine line between protection and violation and or removel of the freedoms us Americans have.

I will/have given up some civil liberties in exchange for more security...it doesn't bother me.

I think it is so amusing how liberals fixate on this "domestic spying program" and the "deprivation of civil liberties."

The Supreme Court of the United States recently announced that individual americans essentially have no rights to own property, that the government can confinscate your land if they think they can make a profit off of it. Of course, in light of that I can see how it should be a huge fucking deal to me whether the government keeps track of who is calling afghanistan three times a week.

whenever somebody has something someone else wants there is going to be trouble. sometimes it's impossible to know who the good guys are. you just have to try and maintain order any way you can while you figure shit out and try to do what's best for eveyone. in this case i think he need to fuck that bitch up n to hell with her civil liberties.

but seriously back on topic. i'd be scared shitless if i had to go into a place seething with hatred for and people who want to kill Americans... wtf are we supposed to do? it's not like the terrorists are all in one place and are going to stay there. it's way too easy for them to be living right here. it sucks to not be as spoiled as we want to be but there's a pretty good reason for a little extra power in the governments hands right now. so yea i think i'm willing to give up some civil liberties in the name of national security. if someone is calling terrorist countries i hope to fuck the government is listening.

Us as citizens are merely apples on an apple tree (the government). We need the tree the tree doesnt need us. I think this whole giving up of civil liberty is being played up by liberal extremists. The NSA isnt wiretapping every Suzy Q to find out the neighborhoood gossip or looking at your internet records to see what kind of porn you like (unless its kiddie).
