My god, you are talking about less than 3% of the population with enough money do even do that if they wanted to, where as, affirmative action effects EVERYBODY.

Well I'm sure that happens but not very often, for every rich kid with a 2.5 getting into Med school there are 50 "Dark students" with equally shitty grades getting in.

But the white boyz have to work so much harder cuz they're white, and honest, and always have the highest ethical standards. This, of course, is based on their history of absolute inclusion of everyone "qualified" - which just happened to always be themselves cuz. . .well, everyone knows those other people don't use no scrub soap.

Here's the conundrum:

It isn't fair to those in the majority who have worked very hard in life and just barely would have made it into some such organization with academic requirements to get shirked just because someone else is a minority with lesser acadmeic achievments. At the same time, it isn't fair to a minority who has worked hard and gets rejected just because the people involved in reviewing applicants are racist, which is more common than those against affirmative action are willing to let on.

I'm not going to claim that I can come up with a good middle ground here. Either way someone is going to get fucked. I believe quotas are terrible. That just doesn't make any sense to me. At the same time, I do think that some type of recourse for those that feel they have been discriminated against should be made easier and cheaper to implement.
