No problem with that...as long as they don't lobby politicians to support USrael.

Politicians are lobbied to support almost every country on Earth, why shouldn't Jews be allowed to lobby for their homeland? We have lobbies to save the whales, end Appartheid, stop global warming, lower gas prices, etc., etc., etc. why would you single out a particular group to discriminate against?
(Foreman, that's your cue to come in here and call Mr. Snafu a racist.)
Rules? You mean we have RULES for that???

Another example, is the "Atlantic Monthly" article that was quashed by two prminent policy academics and experts from the Center.
I also didn't say that lobbying for USrael was the only nation that should stop lobbying politicians, at the tune of $3 billion per year, with $2 billion mandatorilly appropriated for military spending from American Defense Contracters. Pretty convenient, huh?
Judaism is a religion not a race.(Foreman, that's your cue to come in here and call Mr. Snafu a racist.)
There are many ethnic and racial groups that practice Judaism.
There are black jews, shephardic, Ashkenazin, Arabic, Western European, Slavic, etc.,

It's a good thing that the blacks haven't done this.Originally Posted by Mr_Snafu

There's no double-speak at all. You're simply pissed because this one lobby has more resources and is therefore more successful than your pet cause. Sorry, your problem, not theirs.Originally Posted by Mr_Snafu
You are 100% correct, but also 100% irrelevant. If you look at all the times people have been called racist in Open Chat about 1/10th of one percent were actual cases of racist language. The term "racist" in Open Chat has morphed into a term used for someone who disagrees with your opinion. Or so it seems.Originally Posted by Mr._Snafu

It's not that his cause isn't on top that bothers him, it's that he hates Jews.Originally Posted by ALBOB

I like Jewish folks. Some are friends. They are well-read, artistic and contribute to society. Doctors, directors, writers, scientists, good at mathmatics, etc.Originally Posted by DOMS

For me, it's not about religion, it's about foreign policy.

1. Who cares what others think? They'll find whatever reason they can to not like the US. Simple fact: Those not on top don't like those who are on top.Originally Posted by Mr_Snafu

3. The Palestinians weren't doing anything useful with that land (they were nomads, wandering all over the place) before the Israelis turned it into something useful, and now they want it. This, of course, exempts the only worthwhile thing that was already there: Jerusalem. Which is funny, because I'm pretty sure the Jews owned it first.

That's an old argument.
Did you read Time Immemorial?
You should.
And then read the reviews of the book and the guy who de-bunked it, and then had his career ruined by Jews.
He's still alive.
His name is Finklestein.
If the Palestinians were never there, then why is there suicide bombings going on over the RIGHT OF RETURN issue, with people who have the deeds to their property and keys to their house in 1948?
How about the 1994 Oslo Peace Accord?
That agreement - not made by the Palestinians - allowed Israel to be an Apartheid state, just like South Africa.
Care to disagree with that?

The gist of it regarding ownership of the area in his book seems to be that Arabs were moving into that area (to stay) for about 70 years before the land was given (back) to the Jews. I dare say that the Jews' claim to the area goes back further than that 70 years.
An item of note about that book: It also seems to cover the Jews' mistreatment, over centuries, at the hands of the Jews. So, let's say for the sake of this argument that the Jews are mistreating the the Palestinians. So what? The Arabs treated the Jews poorly over the centuries (which includes stealing their lands!) and the Jews found a way to fight back (with the US' and UN's help).
Honestly, I don't care how the Jews lost, or won, the land. All that matters to me is that Jews are generally nice, decent, people and the Arabs are a waste of flesh. That area, besides Jerusalem, was a wasteland until the Jews took possession.
