    I would...however, I'm not a parent so I'm not a credible source.

I would not encourage them to enlist either....nor if I had a daughter. (yes I know its sexist). I would enourage them to attend OCS, ROTC or even better....an academy such as West Point USNA or USAA..

I wouldn't send my kids to anything or any organization.

It's up to them if they want to join.

"If there's no war at the time." It's hard to tell the future these days.

But I think if my kids volunteered to go they could learn a lot of new things, get some discipline, see other parts of the country and world, meet new people, and learn some new skills.

I wanted to see exotic Vietnam... the crown jewel of Southeast Asia. I wanted to meet interesting and stimulating people of an ancient culture... and kill them. I wanted to be the first kid on my block to get a confirmed kill!

    Marines say, "ooh-rah!".

Heh, someone needs to make a military See 'n Say.
