I am sorry to hear that. Seems like alot of people are getting badly injured or dieing on those anymore. I also want to take this time to say thank you for helping protect our country. it is much appreciated.

I'm in the Air Force, Air National Guard (Weekend Warriors). Just after Sept 11th, in October to be exact, I was activated. I spent 19 months on Active Duty in the Air Force on base defense at Scott AFB, IL. I primarily watched over aircraft and drove a Police car. During my time there I became real good friends with Keith who was also activated from my unit. I have many work friends, but few who actually follow me out into the civilian side. We partied, especially since my wife was 300 miles away that whole time, but I never cheated. And before long our activation was over and we ruturned to weekend warriors. I would still see him on our weekends and we'd talk a couple minutes here and there, but nothing too long.
I got a call Saturday from my unit. They told me that Keith was involved in a motorcycle accident and died from his wounds at 26 years old. I don't know if I can accept this message. My grandma died two months ago, and it didn't matter to me. But I keep thinking of Keith.
Life has to go on. I never thought that his death or anyone else I know could affect me like this.
His funeral, I believe is Wednesday. I just don't believe he's gone![]()

Does he get a Military Funeral?
If youve never been to a roll call
youd better prepare

Hey.. don't let Snafu get to you. He has a clear disdain for servicemen and women and celebrates it when we get killed or injured. ESPECIALLY if that service emmber has been involved in the War on Terror.Originally Posted by TheGreatSatan

Snafu...eat me

You're Grandmother probably died from natural causes at an old age right? Whereas Keith went in a violent unexpected way and was very young, so not only are you having to face the death of someone close to you, but the reality that death shadows us all every waking moment. Happened to me last month when my girlfriends 24 year old cousin died in a car accident, I'd only met her a few dozen times at holday gatherings and stuff yet I cried thinking about her, yet I never shed a tear when my Grand Father died last year. I think accidental deaths hurt us alot worse than natural ones.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
Very true. Age also plays a significant role.
no worries bro thats what we're here for![]()
