Get the 2 gigahertz one if your only concerned with multitasking and media. If your into games, go AMD.
I'm looking at some laptops and i'm a bit confused about the cpu specifications. On one of the advertisments i'm looking at it says "DUAL CORE DUO 2x1.66Ghz". My question is what is that the actual cpu speed? or is it 3.3ghz?

thanks for your input but it still didnt really answer my question. Anyway there is another one 1.7 and the person selling it says its equivalent to 3.4 pentium p4 desktop. Is this true or not?

I came across something about the Conroe having problems with RAID, and RAID 1 is fairly common.Originally Posted by BigDyl

I'm worried about the redundancy of your posts
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

There are x2 1.66ghz cores. The speed is only 1.66ghz, but since there are two cores it can theoretically do multiple tasks at once giving the illusion of higher speed, but in reality its actually just doing double the work at the same speed.Originally Posted by BillsFan4life
