    Database/Article

    Anyone know of any good programmes for recording data/articles,i reloaded windows but don't have word

    I am working on compiling a LARGE source of information so i can look over and provide to people who need help

    Can anyone help out?

    Just save it as an offline web page.

    Go to file > save as > (select filetype) Web Page Complete > enter a filename you will reference it by and save.

    Then you can access it later via your web browser.
    Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles

    OpenOffice is a freeware version of MS Office. I'm not exactly sure if it can work for your purpose, but it works just as well as Word as far as I can tell.

    Basically i just want to compile a large file of everything i know in articles and research so if i or anyone else needs it i can go straight to the article and post it or email it to someone

    Try FileMaker Pro. It's not great for enterprise applications, but it'll fit your need perfectly. Plus, it's very easy to learn.

    It doesn't seem worth spending time/money on any software. Just get an external hard drive about 200GB and save the articles as webs like I posted. Then you could take the articles anywhere and open them on any computer with a web browser.

    This brings up an interesting idea: Do you think he could save the pages (like you recommended) and use Google Desktop to index it? I've never used GD, but it makes sense.
