    My poor car

I got into a pretty bad car accident recently so, naturally, i decided to share with all of you guys since this is still sort of like my home away from home even though i don't really post as much anymore.

in case any one is interested it was all the ladies fault, she was driving the 99 Lexus ES300 and i was driving my 97 BMW 318i. i really miss my car it was my first car on stick and was fun as hell even though it was slow. i dropped it w/ Bilstein shocks wrapped in HKS lowering springs and the car cornered and stopped like an animal. i never got a chance to do anything else to the thing as i only had it for about 6 months but forced induction was on the menu till this happened. i've attached some pics.

all in all no serious/long lasting injuries, except maybe my shoulder as i think i sublexed it during the accident and its bothering me to this day. the lady was okay although she went to the hospital immediately she was conscious and talking and everything seemed okay with her.

a more thorough break down of the accident: it happened on Ocean Parkway which is a big three lanes going each way road in Brooklyn. i was cruising doing maybe 30-40 in the right lane, the lady was in the left lane and cut all three to make a right turn. the guy in the middle lane stopped because he saw her coming but i had no chance as there was a wall of cars blocking my view of her. i ricocheted off her flew onto the curb, fish tailed a bit and hit a pole with my rear end before hitting a railing and stopping completely. it was so out of the blue that i don't think i even had a chance to brake. ah, c'est la vie i guess.

attached is what i'm shopping for now

i'll be looking for the M package cause it supposedly has a tuned ECU and it only about .5s slower in the quarter mile than the m5 of the same generation.

Well, most people hear about accidents and deaths all the time on the news and in the paper but they never actually witnessed one. If you were there, i'm pretty sure you would have been shocked and would go over and look on as well to see if everyone in the car was ok.

Glad to hear you're ok Yanick.

lol, i dunno if he was a faggot or not. my rule of thumb is that once a girl asserts herself as having a man i back off because i wouldn't want guys hitting on my girl once she's mentioned that she has a b/f.

i think car accidents are like aphrodisiacs to women for some reason.

    I'm glad you're okay Yanick.

Damn, your cars got fucked up, but at least you all didn't. Sounds like a pretty horrible move on her part. Ah well, that's why there's insurance.

Please don't sound nonchalant about insurance. This is why we pay such high premiums. Well, that and the litigious society we live in.

    Thanks DOMS and CP.

Thank god for insurance. my cars book value was actually a couple grand over what i bought it for so now i have more money to work with and get a nicer car with less mileage etc. i was thinking a 540i M package w/ a six speed manual but that 4.4 gas guzzler would do me in so i'm going for something smaller, maybe a 328i sport with a 5spd manual, which still runs mid 14's in the quarter.

I hear you on the gas, that's why I went with a 4 banger turbo. Good on gas and cheap to make hella fast. The 328i sounds like a fun little ride. I've been in a couple 3 series rides while pushing it in the twisties, and those things can hang!
