btw... i learned about this from my American friends on myspace who are from Cuba. they have names like Cuban Doll and display the flag of Cuba in their posts sometimes but today they are posting pics of Fidel in a coffin, poems hoping he does not recover and so on. i guess you can be proud of where you are from and hate it's government at the same time![]()

Hey, I'm reasonable. Let's do both! Some of the most beautiful golf resorts are on beaches throughout the world.Originally Posted by Little Wing

I think his son will take over and run the country in the same manner.

Fidel Castro Relinquishes Power
he handed control to his brother Raul.

He'll be fine and continue his revolution
Fidel's brother Raúl is slated to replace him. But Raúl is 75, and very unpopular. There are younger members in their fifties that have been pegged after Raúl. There are many things I don't seem to like in Castro's Cuba, such as persecuting journalists and imprisoning critics. As much as I loathe communism I do now believe, that Fulgencio Batista deserved to be overthrown. Over 50% of the Cuban people went to be bed hungry under Batiste while the corruption and debauchery went on in Havana. There is corroption now in Cuba, but there is health care and opportunity for a free education.
Things can and should be better. But Castro has done some positives. Especially considering the 40 year embargo.
I hope that American coporation don't just rush in someday. I hope that when Cuba merges into the Capitalist system that it's a sybiotic relationship with the working people as well as investors.
