It was a tad bit more involved than that but yes, a mass murder attack was thwarted.

Aparently there was an elaborate and well-organized plan to detonate multiple "liquid explosives" (Probably some sort of home-grown Nitro Glycerin blend) on multiple aircraft bound from Great Britain to the United States.

Of course, the conspiracy theorists will probably claim this is a complete fabrication generated by the U.S. and British Governments in an ongoing effort to decieve the world population into thinking that Islamic Terrorists actually exists and are, in fact, dangerous.

I really don't think anything of this actually. At this point it's just another plot that was foiled.
