there s too many guys on it who play it like 18 hours a day and are unbeatable so its very hard to learn. u should have got half life 2 and got Counter strike with it. at least then u can go on noob servers and learn
When you play for Celtic forget the Jersey forget the club, your playing for a people and a cause.

Like I have told people before, the game is extremely dangerous to certain people. I am impervious to almost every addiction known to man, but WoW whipped my ass.
If you are someone with big imagination, the game becomes increasingly dangerous. From the moment you begin to play, your brain construct an alternate reality around the game which you start to get looked into. Its like a good book, but better. Instead of reading a book, your are a character inside of the book. There are very complicated social dynamics inside the game because everyone in the game is another person at a computer who is also living inside their alternate reality.
If you are someone who has multiple alts on different internet forums, you are most likely a person that would be drawn into WoW.

Once the game hooks you it will only be a matter of time before you care more about getting that new set of purple gear than a PR on your deadlift or something.

    Or... Alternate Acccount.

WoW (like Everquest) allows you to create multiple characters (or "Alts") and taylor them to your personality.

You can easily learn WoW. Play on a Player vs Environment server and you don't have to worry about no life 18 hour a day guys killing you. Player vs Environment is the easiest way to learn how to play. It is extremely easy to learn. The newbie areas are well done and new game concepts are introduced gradually complete with pop-up help tips the first time you are introduced to a new concept. It couldn't be easier.

... and yeah it is just a game

    I agree.

I liked Starcraft the best. Warcraft 1 and 2 were great, but they are outdated, less features, lousy graphics, but starcraft is still right up there.

I had a roomate in college who spent night and day on those damned Warcraft games. He was lifting with me until he got that game, then he never stepped foot in the gym since. Those games need burnt.

... I played it about a year ago during the summer (only about 2 months), but I actually lost interest thank god... While I lost interest, I went ahead and cancelled the automatic renewal too, so I couldn't play even if I had an urge to.

I didnt mention War 3 OR the Frozen Throne because it was too short, too easy, and I didnt connect with any of the characters. Plus, the cut scenes were short and far between.

Starcraft's cut scenes were fucking outstanding. I can still feeling overly concerned when the Proteus's hero, (Felix, was it?) fell to the Zerg in the cutscene when his blades 'went out.'

I actually enjoyed playing some of War 3's online games though. The one where you build a SHIT load of towers to block incoming enemies was very addicting.

    Plus, it was FREE.

That is what I meant. The on-line games. I'm addicted to that. I probably play 2 hours a night. It is ridiculous. I didnt' even bother playing the regular game. The on-line play is so much fun.

I played Everquest for the better part of 5 years. I got burned out and dropped it once EQ2 was released.

I've got a bunch of Freids who play WoW. It's amazing how similar/identical the games are. WoW appears to be just as addictive so I'll probably keep my distance.

I tried playing before, I felt like I was at a virtual Dungeons and Dragons Convention, I just ran around until I got to a point where I had to join with people to advance then I said fuck this and tossed it....

I play video games to escape from people, I don't want to have to interact with anyone while playing. Thats why I like Splinter Cell, you're on a mission all alone and you don't need anyones help.
