Okay the recent threads have influenced me to tell my short story about the other night.

Okay a little background: I just moved to Dallas, tx from a suburb near Waco.
I only know one person here.
The daughter of my aunt's friend, who is going to my college.
So I have met her once before this and she seemed nice and she's pretty good looking.

Well, after i move here, I look her up on myspace and ask how she's doing.

She says good blah blah, and then SHE says we should "hangout"
I said thats cool.
Well I put her off for a few weeks because Im fucking lazy.

Then I call her up this weekend to see what she is up to.
She says we should do something.
I said ok, well lets go eat. And she agreed, and said we should see a movie.

Okay so Im thinking its friendly and not a date.

Well Instead of meeting somewhere, b/c I am new here and dont know how to get everywhere, she suggests I come to her house to pick her up.
Okay. Fine. Ill be a gentleman, so i go pick her up.

We go eat at chili's and seem to have a lot in common and what not.
And Im thinking of seperate checks, I mean, Im not a cheap bastard, but this is friendly afterall. Plus I Haven't found a new job yet, and she does have one.

Well she doesnt even bring it up, so Im thinking we'll get the check and then split it.

Well, when we're done the waiter brings the check, and she immediately gets up and goes the ladies room.
So I was like wtf.
Okay I look at the check, Mine is 7 bucks, her's is 15.....
So i pay the fucking 25 dollars including tip.

Well she comes back and I say lets go.
We go to the movie and get in line to get tickets, but she kinda stands off to the side....Okay so I buy both fucking tickets.

Then I took her home after, and btw she lives 25 mins away from me. Nice drive.

We never said it was supposed to be a fucking date.
I mean what the hell. and Like I said, she is working, and I am not.

Its 2006.

Women want equal treatment, but they still want to be fucking cheap and let the guy pay for everything

No flirtation, I didnt even attempt, because Like I said, I was HOPING for a friendly hangout.

The last thing I need before starting my freshman year in college is a girl to pay for and to be bothered by.

They are just too damned expensive.
Why should a guy have to pay? Tell me that honestly?

Its total bullshit, and it was never supposed to be a date, I never gave off that impression.

The only conclusion I can come to is that I got used.

When going out with a girl, find a time when the girl isn't listening (bathroom, going up to the bar, etc) and mention to the waitress that you two are on separate bills.

Then when she brings the bills, it would be very awkward for her not to pay her share... and the girl doesn't have to know it was on your request. Besides if the dinner is going really well, then you have the option to grab both bills and pay. If during the course of the meal, it doesn't look like you are going to get some... well let her pick up her bill.

Here is some advice that will make your life much better. Where women are involved and there's a bill to pay--pay the fucking bill. Don't quibble. Nothing looks worse than a guy who polishes his pennies. Show her you're a man even if you take the hit financially. Walk away like you own her, b/c in a sense, you do.

we go to a bar I buy a round, then we hit the theatre next door, she buys the tickets and popcorn, I get drinks.

we then hit up a lounge and split rounds and have good conversation. and I do my thing.

we then go back to her apartment and have sex.

I then go home and go to bed!

And no I'm not kidding. I have never spent money on girls and it has never stopped me from getting laid. Girls pretty much decide if they like you before you date them. Buying them stuff or not won't change that.
