    Comair Flight 5191 Crash

My thoughts and prayers go out to all affect by the crash of Comair Flight 5191 from Lexington, KY to Atlanta, GA.

LEXINGTON, Kentucky (Reuters) - A Comair jet crashed and burned in a Kentucky horse pasture on Sunday after a failed takeoff, killing all but one of the 50 people aboard, authorities said.

Flight 5191, a Canadair CRJ-100 bound for Atlanta, apparently used the wrong runway at Blue Grass Airport, one that was much shorter and not meant to handle commercial flights, an aviation source said.

    a) who is the asshole pilot that used the wrong runway.

    b) who are the dumb asses in air traffic control that cleared him for take off on a short runway not used for commercial air?

P-funk- a.They gave the pilot's name, but he paid the ultimate price with his death.

    b. According to NTSB...the voice data recorder was recovered and the pilot had been cleared for runway 22 (the long runway in the pic), but for some reason the pilot lined up and took off from runway 26 (the general aviation runway in pic). Both runways are reached by left hand turns. They think the pilot took the wrong left.

Vieope-Yes I live in Lexington, KY, about 10 minutes from the airport. My apartment was closed up with AC and fans running and I was dead sound asleep so unfortantely I did not hear anything. I did not see any smoke or flames from my place and avoided the area, however all three news stations (NBC, ABC, CBS) broadcasted all day and evening from nearby the crash site with live video from helicopers of the site.

As of 9pm EST, all 49 bodies had been recovered from the crash and the one survivor is still alive, but in critical condition.

What kind of a heartless rating could I get for pointing out that the survivor can't be the one that Mr. Glass is looking for?

Here's another pic the airport. The runway the ill fated plane took runs left to right (or parallel to the road) in this pic. The runway he had been cleared to take is the long one with the large white block painted on the end.
