Do parents take too many pictures? (A Vieope like question)

Does taking 16 hours of video footage and 8 thousand pictures sort of defeat the purpose of having a memorable experience? Like when you go on vacation with your kid and you spend the whole time taking pictures of them. When they grow up they don't even remeber anything that happened in their life besides you taking pictures?

I never liked the Aunt and Uncle in my famly that took a billion pics at every family gathering. They just take it too far and they disrupt the function with that sillyness.

    Vieopedification of Vieopeanism.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
