I would think many computer jobs can and will be outsourced, but I know nothing about computers so I could be wrong.

If I could go back I would take bio psych and then med school, become a pyschiatrist!

good list. but if none of that interests me, I would never graduate, and how much they pay would mean nothing to me.

i fucked up the end of highschool thinking about money too much. My new wisdom tells me that, I should pick something that interests me, rather than pays alot, and just run with it.

Microbio and molecular bio double major here. Im trying to get into dental school. If your interested in science Id suggest my route, but if you just want the money doc/dentists make go and get your MBA

see that's what I don't get. What does Micrio bio, and molecular bio have anything to do with being a dentist? Not like your gonna pick out organisms from people's teeth, and test them for diseases.

Science does interest me, but not fixing people up and helping them with their problems. I wanted to study Cosmology/Physics......but jobs are crap. Especially Cosmology.

I am a freshman at college...so I can't really offer any insight.
But computers can be really fun.
Maybe you should go to school, become a graphic designer, and make video games?

i've always wanted to do that...someday.

The basic classes need for dental school are basic bio classes as for micro/molecular bio just interest me. Physic Phds make good money

Physics is insanely hard when you get into it.

Physics is very respectable. Takes a lot of work however - I just entered my first class of the semester today, which happened to be that subject. It's looking to be one of my hardest thus far, at least I'm expecting.

I'm in my third year of college, but my first year I came in as an informal Computer Science major. I was undeclared, but my courses were centered around the subject. Lots of tedious, almost boring work. Had to leave it... it was a great class I took though, real challenging (I was at Bryant University in RI). Swapped out of that school however, transferring to UMass Amherst. I have to admit I transferred because of the intense BOREDOM. Amherst is amazing - I'm having an awesome time over here.

College is what you make of it man. The vast majority of full time college students spend 4 years in college, if not 2. It is, IMO, one of the best times of your life. Duuuuu Itttt

If you can't decide what to do yet, go in as undeclared. Worst case scenario, you have a great experience you can always look back to, and you'll have a much better looking resume.

Whoops - I meant to say that I wasn't exactly declared as computer science... not officially.... but I acted as if I was. I took courses around CS and planned accordingly to declare it going into my sophomore year. But, things change.

my problem is I dont know exactly what I like. I like science/computers/physics and related stuff. But everything gets boring......havn't found something that I think will interest me for the rest of my life.

Negative, proud citizen of the U.S. of A! But I don't mind our neighbors at the slightest. Especially when I was 18... whoa

I'm pretty sure you can go in the majority of schools... it depends on too many factors to generalize in. I have (and am) attending two colleges, of ~4k people and now ~16k people. Smaller schools may have tighter rules, but I'm assuming it's a decision you need to make by the end of your second year.

To avoid going in undeclared, choose a broad major. Sociology, or even Science. Can't recall the exact name for "science" but there is one. Narrow it down in the future. Changing you major as well is an easy thing to do. I think once I heard the average student changed his/her major twice, but I could have just pulled that out of my ass. I heard it somewhere though.

The point is to just get the fuck in there, earlier the better - hesitation is never rewarded
