    Drop in Gas Prices

So we have been seing fuel prices drop recently, down to $2.14 here.My question is are these prices due to worries of a republicans chances at the next election or do we finally have our shit together and can purify more oil.

How long will this drop last, and how low will gasoline get.

Nope, we haven't got our shit together. That won't happen until we no longer require oil to survive.

Simple answer is we have a plentiful supply right now. The refineries aren't making the special (much more expensive) blends this time of year and that frees up more time to make what's used most. The demand slows down as well after the summer season. Plus the built in cost the oil companies put in for catastrophes (like hurricanes) hasn't been needed. All these things and more contribute to the falling price.

The drop in gas prices is obvious evidence of the successful strategies deployed by President Bush and his administration in their ongoing efforts to curtail the emerging energy crisis.

I don't see the drop lasting long either. It's a damn shame that no one will give us an honest answer as to why gas jumped so damn high so quick to start with.I think politicians wanting to better their odds in later elections will greatly affect oil prices democrat or republican. When the election is over our beloved reps will do whatever lines their pockets.Do I sound negative,sorry...

The government swears there is no inflation yet I have updated prices on most of my product at least three times this year and still have to update them again as fiscal year 2007 in Oct. rolls around....

My theory is that on top of countries pissed off with the US in Iraq jacking up prices, the extra demand from the ever growing China is causing rises in price. Also a little price gouging because of the global threat of Terror, you know a little more 9/11 Security Tax...

This is one point that is often overlooked....

The overall global demand for oil has risen at alarming rates over the past few years while production has remained relatively constant. The laws of supply & demand and what not....

What I struggle with is how petrolium traders will completely jack prices off the charts over the slightest speculation or perception.

I'm reminded of a "potential" hurricane threat a while back. It turned out to be nothing but a nice tropical rain but that didn't stop prices from spiking 22 cents/gallon overnight.

You over complicate things. It's was nothing more than the oil companies fleecing the people (with the government doing nothing about it). They weren't passing the costs of anything on to the people. All you need to do is look at their balance sheets. You'll see record profits for the past year.

Who do you think is charging extra for the "9/11 Security Fee"??? The oil companies even though they probably only hired an extra guy to watch the monitors in case the first guy falls asleep...

You think that the higher gas prices are largely the result of security fees? Bwahahahahaaha...

This is definetly to get Republicans re-elected. Oil companies, big corporations, the military-industrial complex and the government are all one in the same. The oil cartels in the middle east are also friends with Bush.

A drop in gas prices right before the elections.

Currently $2.09/Gal here inTulsa but the radio said someplace had fuel for $1.96/gal somewhere in OKC. Ben a Loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong tine since anyone's seen fuel prices below 2 dollars/gallon.

All the more evidence of just how tremendously successful the policies of the Bush Administration have been in bolstering our robust economy and providing the American People with the affordable fuel prices they deserve!
