    The Monkey Man's, sad state of the union

    Yesterday, I made a post in the canine club thread

    Canine Club member list

    Apparently some disgusting pictures appeared there in my post

    The post was investigated to have been made from my ISP
    and came from my IP; however, I had no intention of
    posting such material in this forum

    So the question is: What happened?

    How did the pictures appear?

    Was it a typgraphical error somewhere in the hotlink?
    (I don't know how this works mechanically, script-wise)

    I would say it was a mistake on my part,
    but most of the PICS I hotlink to, come from Google image
    (which doesn't really contain filthy material)

    I did not see the PICS, but I was wondering if there was
    any comments or text anyone remembers
    (please do not re-create the offensive material in your explaination)

    Do any of you amateur hackers have an explaination of how
    my password could have been hacked and my post modified?

    I really am messed up about this
    If it happened to me, it could happen to anyone

    Basically the pictures you hotlinked were scripted to change to those images when it was detected that you were hotlinking IE stealing there bandwidth. That's there way of getting back at bandwidth thiefs.

    I thought of this, in fact i explained that as an option to Jodi
    But, I didn't know technically how it was done

    MM - You didn't get an infraction. It was just a warning. However, I'm going to get it reversed so no worries.

    I was incredibly stunned when I saw those pictures. I knew it wasn't like you to post so horrid disgusting things. As I said in our PM's there was definately something wrong with the hotlink. Both you and BigDyl, IMO, hit the nail on the head with your assumptions about the scripted hotlink.

    That is exactly what happened. It's easy to prove. Just grab the image from your IE history/cache, and prove it. Could have happened to anyone...
