Thread: How many unarmed men would it take to kill a.....Grizzly Bear in the wild

I vote 50.

In spite of their size, some have been clocked at speeds in excess of 56 km/h (35 mph). Along with their strength and deceptive speed, Brown Bears are legendary for their stamina. They are capable of running at full speed for miles at a time without stopping.

I was going t osay 30 until I read this. Not only is a grizzly bear a killing machine, but it has enough stamina to kill for hours.

My only reason voting for 15 was that they would eventually tire the bear out and then swarm him with whoever was left alive.

In light of the new facts, I recall my vote. :|

i was just going to say that .... how are they going to kill him, if there's a weapon or so ,they got a chance , but if there is no weapon how are they going to kill him,no way...the only way is to break his neck and that's impossible..

Humans have no way to inflict damage on a bear
only biting!?!?

And you would only be able to bite on a bears ears and face and you would surely get eaten doing that...

Maybe they could all somehow smother the bear

Easy. If were talking radical jihadists and there was a fatwa to kill the bear it could be done easy. They would swarm the bear, hold it down, gauge its eyes like DOMS said and maybe get the strongest guy to repetidly crack the bear in the jaw. If the eye gauging was done enough the bear would eventually die.

But of course that hypothetical would only work if the guys didnt give a fuck about death and the casualties would be around half. I'm thinking one solid wack from a bear to a humans head is instant death. Not to mention the claws and what not.

But even if the guys were ready to die that would be EXTREMLY frighting to try to tackle a bear.

It would be damn near impossible for humans to take down a full sized male grizzly... The only way it would happen would be to get 15-20 200lb.males on it at once. Probably not going to happen... You'd want to have the first attackers hit it from behind and then immediately bum rush it from all sides. Even then taking it to the ground would take tremendous weight. People would die without question. More than strength you'd need a number of bodies. You're not going to over power the bear more than likely, but bodies could limit it's ability to move around and attack with precision. No way would you want to stike it in the jaw. If anything stick a leg in it's mouth and attack the sternum, ribs, neck, nose and eyes. Leaving it's jaw open for attack means it's jaw is also open to attack. If you had people with great striking ability you may have a chance at blowing out it's leg joints. You'd need some serious strikers however. You have to immobilize the bear before you'd even have a chance of killing it. I picture a couple of jackasses charging and getting swatted across the river. Then everyone else running for their lives. Even if you did manage to grasp the bear, once it felt it was being overwhelmed it would simply charge it's way out and regroup itself. Basically when it was all said and done you'd have 100 dead dudes and a hairless bear...
