Thread: Best Site To Buy Car Audio?

Just great, so you can be one of those dumb bleeping de Bleep kids that are riding around in a $50.00 car with a $600.00 radio. I am going to start carring my pistol and shooting at bleeping de Bleep modos that shake CDs out of my visor.

I spent $5500 on my stereo. Not the best investment

I think Kenwoods suck ass, you would know that if you would only stayed in school.

its not a 50$ car. its a 99 mustang. i'm sure my uncle has a stereo and all the stuff i need i can use. he had a mustang with an awesome stereo system .

I know kenwoods do not suck ass. my uncle has all kenwood shit. in his mustang he had an exclon(sp?) deck, 4 12" kenwood subs in the trunck, 2 tweeters, a flip down kenwood dvd player screen, 2 kenwood amps, 4 6x9's, an EQ, and a ps2 in his car(not kenwood brand tho lol). it was sweet..you could hear his stereo from 2-3miles away .

I like Crutchfield, I have purchased a few of their items before and have had no complaints.
If you buy a radio from them they will supply you with all the accesories you need and instructions that were drawn out by actual Americans.

rockford fosgates makes a better amp, Kenwood heads are actually pretty good. That's the only Kenwood peice I would buy.

Seriously though... If you've got free stereo equipment (Kenwood will work just fine) then go with that. I wouldn't spend anything over 100 bucks on a 99 mustang.

I had an Alpine deck in my truck
(only when my stocker developed a short)

It sucked so bad that I replaced it for a $ loss with another stocker, it sounds better...

Phoenix Gold amps, JL subs, MB Quart, all good names. If you want to cream your pants go with Dynaudio.

Pioneer decks look good, but don't perform and sound as good as an alpine.


Listen to Biggs....it's a waste of money. If you can get em hot system for 300 dollars, go for it. But don't spend thousands, it's stupid. Save your money, get a mortgage.

I totally agree with that. If you are interested in doing research and installing it yourself, you can get kick butt sound for well under a grand. You need a decent head unit with low level outputs, a good component set (tweeters and midranges), a beefy subwoofer and a good 3 way electronic crossover. See this site www.partsexpress.com. They cater to DIY (do-it-yourself) audio and their Dayton Audio line of subs are spectacular. They have good audio message board http://www.pesupport.com/cgi-bin/config.pl , more attuned to home audio, but the people there will guide you in your car audio endeavors. Check it out.
