I liked Saw 2. What didn't you like about it?

No, I don't go to the movies....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

I just read that Saw II was actually a different movie, but the directors of Saw I heard that a guy was making a film similar in nature to theirs and asked if the director would remake it as Saw II...

The saw movies blow goats for quarters. They aren’t scary, suspenseful, or entertaining.
“I used to do drugs. I still do drugs. But I used to, too.”
it is not really a 'scary' movie.
it is more like a serial killer type film, kind of like the movie Seven.
i don't know about that. I believe that the original director died a few months after saw I was released.I just read that Saw II was actually a different movie, but the directors of Saw I heard that a guy was making a film similar in nature to theirs and asked if the director would remake it as Saw II...

Well, what made the first one so grand was unpredictability. In 2, I reconized that bitch from the first one. The only surprise I got from 2 was where the boy was located.
The deaths or tortures were getting quite cheesey. Can someone say...Final Destination spin offs? Sure, Final is about deaths, Saw is about pain, but the creativity is on the same level. Saw would just have to go one step further and kill whatever character.
Speaking of characters...though the acting was bad in the first one, the two leads still showed some desperation and from that, there was development. 2 just threw a bunch of characters in a house (unrealistic, Id say) and set them off in a maze for the cheese. Who cared about who died first? That lacks depth.
The first one had a more narrow depth to it, versus the 2nd. Though I might be biased here, but that ONE room the 2 leads were in had lots of surprises. Thats creativity. 2 had a new house with more characters and more rooms. Theres nothing outstanding about that. Id bet maniclion and min0lee could write up a better screen play for that shit.
One of the effective keys in the 1st one was to keep the audience's attention on the two leads and one room. Since your attention wasnt supposed to stray, the ending becomes that much more amazing. And I must say, the boy in the fucking safe was just a copycat, signifying that they ran out of ideas.

The good thing about horror movies is that they make great date movies. If you want to get a girl to get close to you, take her to a horror movie.
I liked the first two Saw movies and I plan to see the third eventually, just probably not in theatres because my girlfriend won't be around until Thanksgiving, and I'd rather catch the new James Bond flick then.
