i saw something like this at college. it was a tribute from one player to another he admired stating i guess " hey dude, anythingthan can possibly be done with a guitar you've done"

jimi hendrix still kicks his ass though as does stevie ray vaughn and any other player that can convey emotion rather than just noise.

to me passion isn't about technical. then like those sex machine things would make sense. passion is human. malmsteen has technical ability he plays like a motherfucker but it has no feeling no soul. it's amazing but it makes me feel nothing. n that is not the point of music at all.

jazz is admirable for the spontaneous creativity. i've heard that much of it is improvised on the spot and that takes a lot of talent. but i just can't like it. like um some other things... i gave it a fair shot. more than once. wasn't my cup of tea.

Yeah the guy didn't follow any groove just the same pop pop of strings and knuckle raps shit I was doing slap and slides on my acoustic guitar during "Born Under a Bad Sign" when I first learnt to play like 3 months after I picked up a guitar and everyone knows popping when they've played and electric with no amp you gotta pop if you wanna make some real sounds...I mean if you got gimmicks then use'em just make it sound fesh and groovy baby!

Try Coltrane, his Live Love Supreme Full Suite is probably one of the most spine chilling things I've heard next to Jimi at Woodstock...

I don't like that song. It sounds like some Linkin park thing.

    Check these out:

Fast forward to 2:55 when the solo starts if you don't like the song.

And I couldn't find a video for it, but the song is on this NASCAR clip

He was average... the song was all single notes. There are no multiple melodies going on at all and none of the hand positions are really a stretch or very difficult at all. The nature of the song allows for him to play pretty sloppy too. It is mostly flashy tricks that aren't that hard.

    This kid is better:

Single note, easy speed stuff with lots of distortion to cover up mistakes... pretty easy actually
