Agree 100% I can't stand that whiny shit about about there dog getting shot or whatever.

Which genre of music is the worst? I have to go with Country. I don't think it even deserves it's own category, it's crappy pop music with a southern twang. Opera is a close second for me, because of the fact that it's so strict. I respect the training and the years of practice it takes to be good, but goddamn is it boring...

Yes country is hard to listen too but just thinking of opera scares me.I always think of a fat lady singing in high pitches and windows shattering every where. That my friends is scary.

You didn't list rap. So I guess I can't vote.

Pop. Country music just makes me laugh so its okay, but Pop makes me want to kill. And im a die-hard death metal fan.

opera

My major malfunction with opera is that there is no room for personal interpretation. In all other music you can cover a song, but at the same time you can manuipulate it and create your own sound. Opera is just opera. Timeless pieces that are sung over and over and over, the exact same way every time. That sucks. I hate structure, and this is the most restricted type of music.
A good point. Blackalicious are intelligent hip hop and Gift of Gab is a lyrical master with a delivery to match. Most commercial rap/hiphop is bland and unchallenging but theres some good stuff out there.
Quannum project, with the ultra talented DJ Shadow at the helm is brilliant and inspirational in terms of beats, craft and vocals and Aim's Coldwater music contains some supberb jazz infused hip hop tracks amongst fantastic musical soundscapes. These guys turn producing tracks into an artform.
Every genre of music has boundry pushing pioneers who are incredibly talented, the problem is that in general, we only hear the bland commercially driven crap that idiot joe publics buy. Look deeper and all genre's have something to offer.
Country with Rap / Hip-hop a very close second
A good example of looking under the surface - Nick Drake, virtually unknown in his day, died a depressed, sensitive and unbalanced man, after an anti-depressant overdose. Admitedly at the time the music scene was particuarly strong (69 - 72) with many bands and artists still hero worshipped today.
Fast forward to nowadays to find that he is one of the most influential artists, with a huge following. The point being is, that at the time, he was way off the radar, only in latter years did we find out what a fantasticly gifted individual he was.
That Indian or Paky music, whatever it is, which sounds out of tune and annoying is the worst!
I for one love country music, then again I do live in the country for sure. There are corn fields all around my house and for a good part of my life I have worked on a farm. So yeah what they sing about alot of the times has to do with my life. Besides I wont listen to alot of junk music with my little girls around. Oh and opera sucks!

Yeah, I grew up on a farm in a tiny rural town, and I still can't tolerate country music. I have recurring nightmares of being in the woods camping out around a fire drinking and having a good time. Then some asshole redneck cranks up the country music, and suddenly I want to kill myself.

A lot of alternative rock and Heavy Metal sucks. Techno is pretty gay too. I couldn't tell you the name of one country song.
