    thats some scary shit. If you are a tourist driving there and didnt know the way those things work you were in for a rude awakening. But on the other hand i guess there must be some signs that say 'buses only' or something.

    maybe to maintain a steady amount of cars on the road, and prevent traffic jams? Like in Phoenix, they have red lights on the "on" ramps of high ways, and will let a certain amount of cars enter and then waite for a few minutes before letting the next group on, to prevent back up.

    From the looks of it, I'm thinking it's a throughway for public transit vehicles only, I just thought maybe someone thats familiar with them could shed some light on the subject, and exactly how many accidents they cause a year.

    Europe is really evolved in their public transit system.

    It's not uncommon to see streets designated for public transit vehicles only. Now when I was there (8 years ago) I don't recall those polls in use but it doesn't surprise me to see them now. Thet're pretty damn serious about their public transit right-of-way lanes.
