Sorry I don't understand Japanese![]()

If so, what's the difference between watashi and bokwa (spelling)? Why use one and not the other? Or are the interchangeable?
Also, what's the proper spelling for bokwa?

HANAKUSO - boogers
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Yep. Looking it up, the Japanese particle "wa" is a subject marker. So, boku wa is simply I (male) as the topic.

I want to learn conversational Japanese. That comes after I learn to play the harmonica (just started). Thanks for the 'About' site, DOMS, I bookmarked it.

You're going to laugh when I tell you why I started to learn Japanese. Over the last year or so, I've been watching a couple of anime shows, Naruto and Bleach. Well, the Naruto fillers are almost done, so I decided to go back and watch the last few non-filler episodes (episodes not inspired by the manga). While I was watching an episode, I decided to quickly write an email and I put the show that I was watching in the background. The funny this is that, while I was writing my email, I was listening to the show and realized that I understood some of what they were saying.
I figured that since I already new a little, it made to sense to learn actively.

And the Pimsleur all audio Japanese course is great. Just don't by it retail.

Do the anime shows have subtitles, or did you pick up meaning from the animation? Amazon will have the audio course, used. Thanks for the tip.
Awesome that you learned it subconsciously. Pretty impressive.

Thanks, trouble. I appreciate the complement.
I only watch foreign language movies/shows with subtitles. I detest dubbed movies. On most DVDs of Japanese movies, there is the option to have Japanese audio with English subtitles. Always the way to go.
Plus, there are some shows that you can't get in the US. So I download the fan-subbed versions. Even if they have a particular show in the US, it's usually horribly edited and dubbed.
So, I learned it by listening to Japanese and reading English.
