bad camera angle and not the right light. her legs are still pretty muscular. her goal after the marathon is going to be short distance speed events, which means heavier squatting and more power cleaning, so they will probably get even more muscular.

What happened to my wheels? Not sure what you mean...

Not sure how you missed the event either - it's one of the biggest road racing events in Tempe. I worked with the organizers the whole week leading up to it, doing packet pickups and late registrations and supervising the volunteers over at Runner's Den. It was a blast.

There are a ton of other racing events coming up - go check out www.getsetaz.com

I like how Bud Light was there sponsoring the event, nothing like running a marathon and then getting hammered....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Even when i was a fatty, and did my one healthy deed of the year by running (at a snail's pace) the miami corporate run every year... i always thought the whole beer thing at such an event was/is RIDICULOUS.

First of all - it' s 5K, second of all, it's not even quality carbs. Nothing like negating a nice healthy thing like running, with something so ANTI-healthy like beer!

What is LTF Reindeer Run? Where is that? Does it have another name?

The next two events I'm doing are the ARR thanksgiving 8K at the peoria sports complex and the ryka iron girl 10-miler.

There are a few others I was thinking about, like the candelaria run in cave creek and the resolution run (i think it's on new year's eve or new year's day).

no. i wasn't into running until this spring, and definitely not into marathon-length running until jodi put the idea in my head. now i'm hooked. Maybe next year!

I'm doing the arizona Rock N Roll marathon in january - that's my 26.2 debut.

To be honest, after all this distance training, I've come to realize that while it's pretty cool to run all those extra long distances, and it's definitely pretty cool to be able to eat twice what i was eating before, i don't like running for 3-4 hours. I like the short fast distances, so after this marathon is over, i will be training for mid-distance races. Heck i might even do some track and field stuff. there is an "Open" class/category and my running coaches have encouraged me to give it a try - 1-mile, 800 meters, etc. short and fast.

    could be fun.

    but first, the marathon!

OH.. LTF -- Life time fitness...

Thing is that one lands on a long-run weekend for me. the other two i have scheduled are on my cutback weeks, so I choose to run races rather than my shorter distances those weekends... but if it's a long run, i have to do that instead.

not really. you are still maintaining your strength. You are just tired when you go to squat. But, doing 135 for 10 today, even though it was hard, is still a normal weight for you.

That's not so bad. That 8:30-40 a mile (Roughly, I calculated in my head real quick).
