    Since the last election....

Don't you think it's odd we haven't heard much from the media about the electronic voting conspiracy?

I guess that sort of hogwash is only appropriate when the democrats lose an election!

That was the dumbest shit I ever heard. It was a pre-excuse for if they lost, because there is no way it should have been as close as it was. Although, there weren't many seats up for grabs.

It's not hogwash. Electronic voting machines yield results that have no paper trail. We must accept the word of private companies as to the validity of the results (proprietary protections), the majority of which, have allegiance to the republican party.

I have yet to review the data for exit polling for the latest election. Whatever that outcome is, it doesn't mean widespread use of fraud. Smart fixers pick and choose their battles. The historical model for fraud is the 2004 presidential election.
    http://election04.ssrc.org/research/..._exit-poll.pdf

You can see by these results that we can and will have problems down the road.

Let's not forget that the CEO of Diebold Warren O'Dell actually said, he was "committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president (Bush)" in 2004.

What the fuck do you mean committed to delivering the electoral votes to Bush?

I'm still against electronic voting machines, at least those with no paper trail. That is entirely ludicrous and should have never come to fruition.

This is called picking and choosing. I wonder how many states had machine tallies that were wrong in favor of the democrats?
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

Look at the report re Florida--the odds of that discrepancy occurring is 3/1000. If you buy those kinds of odds, I got a bridge with your name on it.

I have found no "discrepancies" in electronic voting tallies that favor democrats. If you find any, please let me know.

I care who wins the elections, but I am a bit of idealist and the integrity of the system is important to me. The merest appearance of impropriety is enough to set me off. It would piss me off if the Dems were clever enough to pull off such ploy.

I agree. Whether we count them by hand, or we count them using computers, the problem persist. Democrats and Rebublicians have members in their organization that would cheat the system any way they could.

Computers are much safer provided you can make sure the code is not tampered with. How do you do that?

How do the banks keep programmers from stealing cash?
How to the airlines keep programmers from getting or giving away free flights?
How does Walmart keep the programmers from adding bogus employees to each payroll?
How does the gaming commison make sure that slot machines pay out what they promise?
How do the casinos keep the slot maching programmers from rigging the machines?

You have controls. You test the controls. You have independent auditors.

I am not saying these things don't still happen, but these systems are much more reliable than some goob with a pen and paper.
