and at 65 years old and over 911 competitive events, he's earned it. Not to mention the overwhelming fact that it's all about his son. We ought all seek to live to his standard of unwaivering devotion.

I've had the honor of running in a race with them. While the video is certainly inspiring, seeing it in person had a much greater impact on me.

I am a pure blooded cynic. The first thing I thought was "What a show-off!". Half way through the second video I almost got choked up, too. That father is a champion for his son. That guy is my new hero.

when i was holding my daughter the first time it dawned on me that love isn't what someone is going to do for you or make you feel... it's simply what you are willing to do for someone else. that is love in it's purest form. i really think what that man does he does for his child and not himself at all.

I think this was their last year, their last Ironman, because the father is getting to old.

One of my professors does distance events and has been in races with them. he said it is really great to see it in person.

The second video, where they explain the story, is so fucking sad/amazing. It chokes me up when he says "if I could walk I would tell my dad to sit down. It is my turn to push."
