    Anniversaries

How do you celebrate them (at which time intervals and how extravagently)?

This question is directed mainly toward non-married couples but I would still love to hear any good anniversary stories from you guys.

Also, what is the general procedure for if you break up with your girlfriend/boyfriend and then get back together? Do you get new anniversary dates or just keep the original one?

I am nearing four months with my current girlfriend. We broke up for about two weeks last month only to get back together. She asked me today how we should do our anniversary. I say , but I'm curious what others in this situation have done before. A lot of my previous girlfriends didn't really care much for anniversaries which is perfect for me but the current girlfriend seems to.

Share any interesting anniversary stories / experiences / presents.

On that day, nothing big. Dinner, gift.

You could play that either way. 1) it strengthened the relationship as a whole (first day) or 2) it was a new leaf, new chapter in the relationship (new day)

Play along and the legs will stay open, don't and you'll be tossing around knuckle babies for many lonely nights with a dirty sock for companionship...
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

You're right, I hadn't even thought of that. I suppose I meant "informal anniversaries" so to speak, in new relationships, where some couples celebrate at 1, 3, 6 (etc.) months. Just wondering how extravagent some of these get (as well as yearly anniversaries, 1, 5, 10 years, etc.).

Only problem with me is that I always cook for my girlfriends, so a dinner wouldn't be anything special unless it was trying something totally out of the ordinary.
