Well... The Poll is asking "why do you Body Build"

Yet your first post asks, "Why do you Lift"

I think it's important you seperate the two.

I'm not a "Body Builder". Sure, it's nice not being fat but I'm FAR from what most here might consider "Body Building" material. I have no aspirations of becoming anything of the sort.

I LIFT for strength and endurance. My professional career is pretty sedintary so I have to suppliment it with physical exercise in order to maintain a healthy life.

Now.... having stated all the required "canned" reasons... In truth, i do it so I can stand a fair chance against my kick-boxer wife.

I would classify a bodybuilder as someone who does a complete body workout....

as opposed to your average weightlifter who hits his arms, and maybe a full upper body at best...

maybe some curls, but a lot of bench press....ect

Well I am not a bodybuilder either. But the good thing is that I have a good knowledge on dieting and if I get fat I dont worry because I can lose that pretty quickly. Sometimes I wonder if that is a good thing because I can eat a lot of pizza and other good things. It is mainly because of women and health.

I disagree with this. A would define a body builder as someone whom trains to add muscle to his overall physique.

The rest of what you describe, I would classify as putz's.

I lift for health, but it's also nice to know I'm stronger than most people I deal with. The guys my age that I know are all complaining about their backs, or their this or their that. I feel like if I stop lifting I really will start to die.

Lol ... and it is nice to see 30 yr old women looking me over at 47 so I guess I'll have to claim 2-3 & 4.

So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.
