I got my cast off today

And I found out my bone didn't heal all the way yet. The doctor said it was very odd that someone my age's bone couldn't heal in 5 weeks. This actually kind of scares me, I wonder if my drinking problem has something to do with it? I'm also scared that it could be something worse, maybe a more serious thing such as cancer or another disease.

Has anyone else had any prolems like this?

Of course getting pounded 3-4 nights a week will hamper recovery, your body will use it's resources to recover from the alcohol rather than to repair your leg.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

When the Dr. said that he's seen hundreds of these same breaks and never seen someone my age not heal right, thats when I got a little freaked out.

Did he speculate as to why it didn't heal?

I've been suffering from extreme back pain that feels like it's deep in the bone, yet none of the doctors can find anything through MRI's ,X-ray, bone scans and painful EMG's...so I found a neurologist who monitors me every month and gave me methadone for pain (if you are ever in a lot of pain opt out of vicodin and percocet and ask for methadone it's pain relieving properties last longer and the addictive properties go way down), he's just waiting out to see if it gets any worse, if so then he will probably request a biopsy or a more intense bone scan where they inject dye into the area of centralized pain...you know sometimes our bodies don't react in the way the doctors think they should as he explained thats when they start looking at other stuff...in fact he just wrote up a lab sheet for me to take to a lab for blood work just in case he is missing any indicator of something more serious, I've found that these things take time and patience and def. a little bit of home maintenance like eating right and not getting plastered 4 nights a week....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

He just said that the ligaments in the bone didn't grow back and that it was weird. The physical therapy lady told me it could be because of my diet and lack of sleep, which would mke sense because all i've been doing is drinking and not eating. It's just scary thinking you might have something seriously wrong with ya. I think it's about time to clean up my life a bit.
