    The Effects look awesome!

Actually, the Surfer was a "villain" when first introduced. He was simply the
"Herald" of Galactus, the planet eater. I assume he is going to be still
pretty muchly brainwashed at this point.

It would be so totally sweet if they made the next few movies lead up to the arrival of Galactus. It's nerd heaven, i would bust a nut.

So is he like that liquid metal dude from Terminator where if you freeze him you can shatter him?
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Silver Surfer started out as a villian. He was the herald of Galactus, the Devourer of Planets. BTW, SS' "real name" is Noran Rad. He lived on an utopian world when Galactus came to devour it. In exchange for not eating his homeworld, Noran agreed to find other worlds for Galactus to eat. He's a good guy doing bad things.

No, I don't. He has incredible powers, but not that one.

Rethinking it, Akira is right. I don't remember the Surfer trying to kill anyone without a reason. Perhaps in the movie, he saves the Human Torch after he let's him go (no one else could).

Man, I hope they don't rewrite the Surfer too much.

    Actually... I recall this issue.....

Surfer Drags the torch into the upper atmosphere where there is no oxygen. His flames go out and torchy freefalls back into earth's oxygen.

Eventually, he regains consciousness and "flames on" and flys to safety. At least that's what i "think" I remember.

In the beginning, the Silver Surfer was one of the most terrifying villains in Marvel history.

It's important to remember than in the comic series, The Silver Surfer lost a vast majority of his "humanity" and "compassion" when Galactus transformed him. He became the Indentured servant of the planet Eater. It wasn't until later when the Silver Surfer defied his master's will and thwarted the destruction of Earth that the Silver Surfer attained certified "Hero" status.

Ok... my geek-o-meter is pegging out.

If only because of his dispassionate attitude. Personally, I think that Thanos was a better villain.

No, but I bet it was funny.

On a related note, I really liked the Scooby-doo, Johnny Bravo episode.

    Velma: Jinkies!
Johnny: "Jinkies"? Is that some kind a...breakfast cereal?

Thanos was a bad ass but he was a Titan. He's SUPPOSED to be a bad ass. As far as mortals go, my heart will always belong to Dr. Doom

Searching back through my ancient history, wasn't the Surfer imprisoned on Earth by Galactus?

    Favorite Galactus herald: Firelord!

PS- I think Justice Legue is the best show on TV.

I liked the Black Panther, not so much the other 2.

I've watched about 10-12 episodes or so of Justice league, it's not bad.

I just hate that it has to be so kiddy-based. I.E. no blood and gore.
That's what I hated about the X-men animated series.
I downloaded and watched the entire 5 seasons. And not once did wolverine cut another person with his claws. It would always be some robot.

Yea, i have to agree here. The best acting was X-men 1-2.
Spider-man is also pretty well done.
