    Crushed by water

Do you think a person would be crushed by a block of 10 tons of water? Not ice. If you stand under this block and it is released like a brick. Not from too high only a few feet over your head.

does anyone know? i really don't think it would. people have survived falls from planes by landing in small bodies of water... if the hypothetical block of water has alligators though

i think it'd have to be in a solid or semi solid state to do any damage. i don't see how it dropping onto you is worse force than a high diver...

Maybe you quickly dive in the water and it spreads everywhere so you are safe but have you ever been under a waterfall? It is strong.

100,000 cubic feet of water pours over the Niagra Falls every second.

But the water in niagara falls is very fast because it falls from too high, if it is a few feet over your head, is it that strong?

don't know. But 10 tons is awefuly a lot of water for gravity to react upon. Even if it were starting from 2 feet above your head.

The force is greater then a high diver because force is mass * acceleration , thus the force is higher.

The force would be about 89-90 Kilonewtons which is much greater then getting hit in the head with a bat, so I'd say no.

No, this one is to easy for Blaine.

His stunts are more along the lines of......"watch me stand on one leg and not eat food for 25 days, while i shit and piss myself."

I'd say that if it could be held over the person then dropped on them it would retain it's shape after it landed so the person would likely drown? Because basically to be in that state it would have to mean that it is like our atmosphere so the person in this kind of physical environment where water could be suspended would have to be able to fly since swimming wouldn't be an option....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

But it is a liquid. The molecules go around you that is why you can enter it. If you agree that it would crush you then you need to agree that 20 tons of a gas like hydrogen or oxygen can kill you too if it falls over you.

Thats not true, solids and liquids have fixed volumes where as gas does not. While liquids don't keep their shape when hitting you you are still experiencing its force. Its gravitational potential energy turns into kinetic crushing you.

the things used to get water to dump on fires from lakes hold 5 to 15 tons of water. i doubt let go from directly above you it would "crush" you.
