I do remember that they beat the shit out of each other, but it looks like the Deceptecons will fight us mostly? Its kinda the point, but reminds me of Godzilla movies. Its been done to death.

I get the impression that the Transformers are a "race" bent on conquest and the ones that try to defend us are dissenters.

That's just an impression and not something that I've heard.

I can't even wait! That looks so friggin' good!! Optimus Prime looks awesome!

The cause of the war was simply that the Decepticons wanted it. They ended up on Earth by accident.

I also remember in the cartoons there were dinosaur transformers in the earth that get unburried and they kicked everyones ass, but were kinda the good guys.

Why did that robot give that girl yellow discipline at the end. That was perverse.

They were built, not discovered. The big difference between them and the Autobots (besides their alternate forms) were the brains. I think it was Perceptor that created them. Sadly, he lacked the materials to make fully functional brains. So the Dinobots were pretty stupid and felt just as inclined to attack the Autobot as they did the Decepticons.

Due to their enhanced construction, they also felt superior to the Autobot. In fact, Gimlock (the leader) felt that he should lead the Autobots and attempted to defeat Optimus Prime.

still, I'm pretty cautious. The teaser had me all giddy like the dweeb that I am but this trailer makes me have doubts. It looks like it could very well become a movie about robots with the names from a popular series, rather than a true Transformers movie. I wouldn't be surprised to find that in attempt to appeal to a broader audience it sacrificed some of its roots... cuz um... am I the only person feeling like this movie is trying to have a post 9/11 appeal? I'm gonna be really pissed if Megatron is wearing a turban

damnit crono. i will have nothing posted that could be considered negative. only happy thoughts so this movie will not suck, and my childhood dream will be fullfilled

Yes! They changed their minds. As of 9 months ago, they weren't going to cast him as Optimus.
