    Any JDM smarts?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...9648&rd=1&rd=1

    About to buy this.

    Payin 5,250..

It's not a Type-R, not sure why he has the Valve cover on it... Just a JDM b16a... What do you guys think, if anyone has any knowledge of purchasing cars like this. I had a civic before I went Navy, was just startin to mod it..

    Input please, my forum friends.

Looks like a decent turbo set up...any idea what kinda boost its putting out and power figures?

Also, would be good to know what engine management is being used if any considering your going to need tuning.

Do you have a reputable tuner in your area?

I would recommend gettting a high flow fuel pump, high volume fuel rail and 440cc injectors to make sure you have a solid fuel sysyem in place along with a good engine managment systenm if it doesnt have one. 6psi is okay on a stock block but anything over 9 might be a little touchy.

    Why was the motor rebuilt?

I have a supercharged Nitrous fed JDMH22A 98 Prelude. So I have done this stuff many times, I also had a beater 1991 Honda Civic with a JDM B16A on nitrous.....that engine is great and should fly with a good turbo set up in the car you bought.

I wouldn't by a boosted car off Ebay. Too many things can go wrong.

A T3 turbo plus misc. parts is gonna cost 2-3k+, plus mechanic work. Price seams fishy.

Nice. I'm planning on getting a lude this summer.

What boost are you running? Built internals?
done a 1/4 mile run yet?
What did you pay for your setup?

Here's a link to some pics and info on the car.

    http://www.promofest.ca/features/Can...lude/index.asp

It now runs on built internals ...runs 11psi and creates 309whp and 277wtq. we still have tuning to do on it...but Im selling the car soon as we are having a second baby and i dont have time. Before it was 266whp on 6psi and ran a 12.9 at the track....with no nitrous use....the nitrous isnt used as a power adder so much as a cooling agent....the blower runs hot so the N2O cools the charge.

you must've spent a fortune. My guess is your shooting for 25-30k plus to sell that. Not a quick seller by any means.

The car has been in over 300 car shows across canada....and featured in 12 magazines. Im looking to sell it quickly ...it really owes me nothing back...it was a fully sponsored car..."the meguiars canada car". It will be for sale somewhere around $18,000...that doesnt even cover the paint job.

I dont know much about the honda motors. But Im positive that with any JDM toyota motor you're very unlikely to pass us emmissions. BTW, congrats on the buy, looks like a decent car!

badass car... how did you get the metal effect on the top? did they sand it to the bare metal and clear it?

    Thats exactly what was done!

The roof was sanded and then cleared with gold flake in the clearcoat, so that when the car was in highend indoor lighting and sunlight it shimmered. We had to sand and clear it all along with the other paint and airbrushing within 48 hours before it started to rust. It took 3 hours just to sand the "A" pillers down. We needed 2 teams of people to work on it 24 hours a day.

People at car shows used to stand beside it and debate with each other whether it was silver paint or bare metal......pretty funny at times.
