    I use norton ghost....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

True Image 10 Home creates the exact copy of your hard disk and allows you to instantly restore the entire machine including operating system, applications, and all the data in the event of a fatal system crash or virus attack.
Is this not what he wants?? Maybe I'm confused. Would this not be considered a back-up program?
Edit...........I'm getting this confused with the other thread.
    Question about my computer

What would you consider a RAID 1, back-up or imaging? I basically use Ghost as a poor man's disk mirroring. Instead of instantaneous imaging, I do it every 2 to three weeks...

I wouldn't really consider any RAID level a backup program. It's redundancy. If you delete a file, then the mirrored drive it will be deleted as well.......

Back-ups are for recovery, i.e. lost or corrupt data
Raid is for fault tolerance, i.e. a hard drive fails

I think every computer should at least come with a raid 1 set-up because most people will not do back-ups...

Funnily enough, I found this about 5 mins after I started the thread. Originally I was told that you needed to install it from CD. My laptop was XP pre-installed (i.e - no XP CD available) but after a quick search i found it and installed it from an included folder in the sys32 directory.

Imaging programs sound good though. A full back-up looks lke it would take 1.5 hours on NTBackup. I guess imaging is a lot quicker.

Thanks to all for the suggetions.

I have a second hard drive in my desktop computer, I have Back-up set to go off every Sunday night and do a full system back-up, this is for disaster recovery purposes only.

Imaging is typically used to create a ghost of a drive for purposes such as upgrading to a bigger hard drive, or duplicating systems, i.e. a roll-out of 20 computers. It does not make sense IMO to use imaging for back-up purposes.

How long would it take say for a 20g backup? Any idea?
