    Exclamation Need Help With Computer

I've got a .exe file that is a slideshow of photos of my wedding. The photographer wants an extra $800 to give me useable digital copies of the photos. Is there anyway I can get the individual photos from this program to post and reproduce myself? I've got the program on my hard drive. I just need to access the individual files (assuming each pictures as an associated file). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Maybe even hook me up with a hack for hir who can help...

What happens when you double click the .exe? Nothing?

.exe is suppose to be an executable file which should launch independently. My guess is that the photographer changed the extension so you can't open it.

You should go to his shop and ask to view the pictures on his computer. Then remember what program he opened it with. Find that program, and open the file within the program, so that way you don't have to change any extensions.

It's a slim chance, but download and install 7-zip. It'll add a context menu so that you can try to "extract files here".

I can't go see the photographer. When I double click on it, it opens as a slide show, and it doesn't seem to be using a program I'm aware of on my computer. It reminds me of a PowerPoint slide show, but there is no indication of it using any program. It is just titled "name"wedding.exe. I do use bit torrent.

Tried this. It said it is not a supported archive.

When you run the program, what does the process manager show as the running process?

When you right-click on it and get the properties, what does it show for the company name?

most likely the .exe is using a small self-contained program, not one on your computer.

It shows the name of the program, which is ...wedding.exe. There is no company name in the properties. It does appear that the program is self contained. I'm at a loss

Register at www.computershopper.co.uk forum and post the question there. There are some really good computer users there.

You could use a software that records a video of everything that is happening on your screen, those softwares that people use to record webcam videos then you edit it later and take the frames of the pictures.

    Kind offer, but no thanks.

No offense, BigDyl, but I don't think Mrs. Pirate would approve. There are photos she doesn't even want our family to see. (Not nudies)

Power desk pro is a good way to manage files ... this is a torrent file. This is not a free program, though I think if you use torrent clients you know what to do with the file after you downloade it

    This is a XnView ... a good media manager from CNet's download.com.

screen capturing would degrade the digital pic's bigtime.
