Body Worlds
Has anyone seen this? Dante wants to go and as much as I like a good horror flick, I'm afraid of seeing dead bodies in real life. Does it look like dead bodies or due to the plastination does it just look fake. The exhibits claim they are using 200 dead bodies.
So who's gone and did you like it? Would you recommend seeing it? http://www.bodyworlds.com/index.html |

I haven't been to it, but I've seen it on video.
Maybe it's just the metrosexual in me, but the idea of putting bodies up on display is some morbid shit. There's no way in hell I'd go to that. It looks in no way artistic to me. I think it's just more of the over the top shit that's so prevalent in the US right now. You've got shit like this, shock-jocks, fake "reality" shows, and the list goes on. But that's just my opinion. |

They've got a display here in Vegas too. I haven't been to see it, but I've seen plenty of pictures in advertisements. The bodies don't even look real to me. They look like plastic models. For the life of me I can't see the interest in paying to see dead bodies. There's way too many live ones around here I'm willing to pay for.
Not that I have to pay for it.![]()
Rules? You mean we have RULES for that???

If you like horror movies then you've already seen MUCH worse than you'll see in BODIES.

A buddy of mine went and said it was really cool....
I would go if there was an exhibit close to me. Actually I've thought about taking the trip up to New York, but it's too cold this time of year. I'd love to go.. but it's not to freak myself out. I just think it would be awesome to view the human anatomy in that way. It's much easier than kidnapping people and cutting them up, or breaking in to the morgue. Just watch Discovery Health shows for a week or so to warm up ![]() |

Maybe this will help you get over your fear?
But only you know yourself... If you're really sensitive to those types of things then maybe you shouldn't go. |

Unfortunately, I have seen a few dead bodies and I seen one or two die while I was there. One was a kid with a car on top of him. Some people are sensitive to this kind of stuff, but it really doesn't bother me all that much. I think this may be kinda different?

Ohhhh, gnarlay!
I wonder if they could drop glass blocks on my body while I'm alive and watch my heart beat it's last few times like they did to the horse in The Cell?

I've got a friend who saw this in Vegas. She actually got some good pictures.
Some of the exhibits were quite morbid while others were fascinating. There was one strange exhibit of a fat oriental guy with his entrails swirling about him like those Chinese streamers you see them twirling at festivals. The woman lying with the fetus still inside her was a tad off the cryptic chart for me but... from an educational point of view it was a fascinating look inside the anatomy of a pregnant woman. So let's just do this and I'll get back to killing you with beer" ~ Homer Simpson |

I saw the bodies exhibit when it was in NYC. It was one of the coolest things I have ever seen. An amazing exhibit! I highly recommend it.

I went last year when it was in Denver, it was cool, I recommend it, and no it was not gross or anything...if you have ever taken anatomy & physiology or biology and dissected a pig or something it's not much different.
