Gas/electric bill

How much was yours for the month of January? If you have gas and electric, combine them. I have gas and electric. I payed 292.27$ for the month of January. The gas company said I used average gallons. Gas was 220$ and electric 72$. I use gas for heat, cooking and drying.

Goddamn your gas bill is high.

My wife is home on Mat leave right now, so that means the heat is on all day everyday, plus the gas fireplace and mine is about $111 when converted to US Dollars.

It was a bad month. Our spa has an anti-freeze feature that turns on the pumps whenever the temp falls below 36 degrees. The damn thing was running almost 24 hours a day. Combine that with having to heat a 3,300 square foot house and the bill can get a bit high. We were in the $450 range.

Rules? You mean we have RULES for that???

My thermostat is set at 71. 24 hours a day, plus my wife will throw on the gas fireplace.

I know that is why i said you are getting raped by the gas company . Mind you, you are probably getting your natural gas from Canada

Propane isn't the same as Natural Gas.

Propane heating is on par costwise with Electric Heating.

I live where the electricity is almost 78% oil fired, the main reason our company has grown exponentially in 4 years.....Just a little longer and I can afford to buy a solar elctric system for my house and then get half of it paid off in state and federal tax refunds....how awesome is that! The state of Hawaii and the US gov. will be giving me free electricity after about 10 years in my latest calculations based on the latest figures.....then my solar panels which have a life expectancy of 25+ years will pump electricity into our home for 15 more for free.........yeeeeee haaaawwwww??????

Oh not to mention the solar hot water system I'll have for almost free since I'll be getting the parts at near cost since I work here at the Solar distribution base of Hawaii, that'll take at least a 40-50% chunk out of my electric bill.....it's like around .20 cents per kWh here in Oahu and .35 cents per kWh in Molokai where a large portion of our rise in sales have come from.......

Have you looked into solar heating for your spa?

Here is a cool website that gives you all the info you'd need to figure the cost of a small sytem...

http://www.findsolar.com/index.php?page=rightforme

It even estimates the rise in property values and how long it'll take to pay itself off in electric bill savings...
