    Giuliani Confirms He Will Run.

Giuliani confirmed on Larry King Live that he had filed the necessary paperwork to run for office and felt he had a good shot against Hillary or Obama. He is a conservative that supports gun control and abortion rights.I have heard him get alot of praise, can he/will he defeat Obama/Clinton if thats what it comes down too? Why?

He will not get the parties nomination. A "republican from new york" is really just a semi-moderate liberal.

Plus, he is already starting to flip-flop. He has gone back on his views on gun control because he knows he will have to in order to win. To me this just shows he is a true politician: fake and manipulative.

Maybe he's just doing what it takes to get elected, and then he will revert back once in office? Kinda like a foot in the door.

From listening to pundits on both sides, he's about the only front runner that stands a chance against Billary. My main objection to him is his history on gun control. IF he can be believed that he wouldn't impose his New York views on the entire country he's got my vote.

My thoughts exactly. I think he has a good shot if he chills with some of his stronger left wing views.

He had stood behind the war and GWB's plan until just recently.I am concerned he may be pulling a flip-flop there so he can pull in a few more votes.Doesn't that show how dishonest a candidate is right off the bat when they change their views to jump on the "bandwagon"."I am going to run for president so I must insult the currnet president and his approach to the war, when until recently I supported him in his views."

I hadn't heard he pulled his support for the war. But, since I've been having serious thoughts in the save vein, I don't see a problem with it.

I came off misleading there, sorry.I can't say he has pulled his support but is beginnig to admit that alot of mistakes were made and has said that he doesn't agree with sending 20,000 more troops but 120,000 would be more effective.I said I was concerned he will jump on the bandwagon and I meant by blaming Bush alone. He hasn't but I think it's coming,he was fairly respectful in regards to GW on Larry. However to predict how honest he is watch to see if he flip-flops for votes.

We're seeing eye to eye there. My only problem is knowing when a change of opinion is a ploy for votes vs. an actual change of opinion. When new facts have come to light I've been known to change my mind before. As a matter of fact, it's that very ability I sometimes look for in a public official. Instead of blindly following a path simply because it USED to be correct, I want somebody that can see new facts, recognize them as being important and actionable, then take that action. It's that kind of honesty that's been missing in politics for a VERY long time. And I'm not slamming one party over the other here, they're both just as guilty.

His gun-control ideas alone bar him from being anyone I would vote for...

Didn't Guiliani have some mafia ties or something?? Whats the story there?

I like the man though. He will never get the women's vote though, not after that situation w/ his wife.

    Never!

    One of my old posts:
At the age of 14 I had a semi-auto .22 rifle and a .410 shotgun both kept in my room and I was allowed to wander off into the woods with either one or both at any time. I was also allowed to take my dads .22 pistol with me in the woods. So I would have the shotgun slung across my back, .22 rifle in hand and pistol holstered on my belt. I killed many a snake, squirrel and rabbit for my dad and uncle to eat. I had 3 different shot for the .410 from quail, buck to slugs. My dad made me practice with the slugs all the time. His theory was if could hit something at least half decent with a slug, I could be dead on accurate with a rifle.

    My idea of gun control:
    BRASS - Breathe-Relax-Aim-Sight-Squeeze
If by Gun Control you mean that, then yes I am for it...

I didn't have pistol and rifle sharpshooter ribbons in the Navy because I hated guns...

One of the reasons I like Hunter S. Thompson so much is his love for guns....there's nothing like blasting off a few rounds and the lingering smell of gunpowder...
