Thread: Another DEAD iPod....

I've had mine 3 years and no problems. Stop dropping it.

Actually, now that I think about it, I've dropped mien quite a bit. Plus, I leave in it my car year round. It's been in there on nights way below freezing, and days around 100 degrees. iPods are hearty.

I abuse mine to shits. Never had a problem.

Except a greater than 50% battery degrade. No problems though. They replace it free for up to 12 months of purchase date.


If your ipod is less than 1 yrs old, go get the extended warranty pamphlet. Activate it through the phone, then a couple weeks later report your ipod broken. They'll send you a box for your ipod, with prepaid postage. You'll get a new one back in a few weeks.

Yeah my battery is utter shit now. I charge it in my car and at home though, it never really dies. Also, it's one year old, not one years. It bothered me.

I have returned 2 next time get the warrenty for a extra year. Heard you can get them repaired cheap though

I hate noobs that think an 'ipod' is the only 'mp3' player there is.

I have an older 30g and a brand spankin new 4g Nano. I use them every day and haven't had any problems.

Oh, I won both of mine in separate raffles.


(I did buy a 40g one for the wife for Xmas a couple of years ago. The wife asks, so I buy. The thing looks like a brick compared to the newer generations.)

I'll never buy an ipod, with the variety of other players I can't understand the rage over Ipod?

It's because an ipod is the only MP3/MP4/etc player there is. There exists no other device that can play songs in an electronic format.

I like my creative 1 GB player...this thing has taken a beating and still runs fine.

1. Some people have more than 2gb of music they want to take with them.

2. A PDA phone is a bit large for some uses such as the gym & where are you going to put it?

3. I would prefer not to have my mp3 player share the same battery life with my phone, because when I needed to use my phone it's likely the battery would be depleted.

4. PDA phones are relatively expensive and I'm guessing relatively fragile, if dropped when jogging they may not hold up as well as a flash based memory mp3 player would. I haven't tested that or anything, but it's a guess.

My 20gig ipod is almost full, I'm thinking of buying an 80 gigger and loading it up with video's or w/e. And yes, all 20 gigs I have nows are music, totals around 3500-4000 songs

First off, I am only talk about the shuffle. I wouldn't even consider buying the other models because they are overpriced crap. I got my shuffle on ebay for $60. The thing is 3 years old, and been through hell. It still works great. I got the best deal possible for something that has been worth its value 5 times over.

How overpriced are they? I got my 8gb nano off ebay for $200 dollars and have not had a problem with it. Most other 8gb mp3 players I looked up were the same price.

Creative makes one for $70 that owns the Nanos, plus you can upload without using Itunes. I got the hack for my shuffle. I refuse to touch Itunes.
