I'd go with 802.11 N now.
But if it's cheap you want, it's cheap you get:
hey, can anyone recommend a good and cheap () wireless router, it has to be 802.11b/g
thanks
Wireless G should be good enough for most of your needs. I don't think it is work the price difference to go to N right now.
I am guessing this one is shitty, just because the price is so low:

but whats the point of buying an N router if I can't use its capabilities? to waste money, thats not me, son.
You need a super G card to get the 108 mbits out of it, which real world is like 10. Blah, I like linksys better because I'm used to the firmware, but most wifi routers/ap's suck and are no reliable, unless you go with an aironet. Then again you just want to look at porn on your psp, get it.
how about you make an app for the psp to hack wep codes, so I don't have to buy a router.
My Carb Cycling Progress - you can't hide from the numbers.

For cheap and still ok wireless router - Linksys WRT54GX2. Definately the best budget router. You can get this for around $60.
Us Robotics probably beats Linksys any day.
If you would look closer, you'd see that it is so low, because it is "recertified".
Which means the same thing as refurbished.
Netgear is a good brand, I sell a lot of them at my electronics store (I am in sales). And I never hear complaints about them.
Go with linksys if you don't mind paying extra.
Or go with netgear for overall quality and price.
Edit- A new version of this router is actually very nice.
Notice that it is a SuperG, it has 108 mbps versus the standard G of 54 mbps.
Some people will tell you that its pointless to go higher because you can only get the internet at 10mbps max.
It's simply not true, the speeds are noticeable.
