    Favorite Movie/Scene

Gladiator/ the scene after his first battle in the colleseum where he confronts Commudus. "Loyal servant to the true emperor Marcus Aerilius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife, and I will have my vengence, in this life or the next." Simply a masterpiece.

True Romance. Where Christopher Walken has that coversation with Dennis Hopper. Dennis Hopper calls him half negro. Great acting.

Goodfellas, when Henry takes Karen to the club the first time. The whole walk through the club is one shot, piece of art.

Agreed, that's a brilliant shot, incredibly differcult to pull of technically. Very effective.
Brian de Plama has used this technique in some of his movies, Snakeyes for example, when Nicholas Cage walks to the ring at the start.

Braveheart, at the end with the whole "FREEDOM" part.

And now after seeing 300 I'd have to say those slow motion fight scenes are up there at the top of my list.

Another one of my favorite scenes is in Boogie Nights when shit starts to go bad for Marky Mark and they attempt to rob the guy they are selling drugs to. The Chineese kid setting off fireworks in the house, and the expressions on their faces make it a pretty intense scene.

Although there is a huge continuity flaw earlier in that scene. The year was 1978, and on the mix tape he is playing is the song "Jesse's Girl" by Rick Springfield. Wasn't released until 1981.

    1. Jaws - the whole sequence when Roy Scheider is all alone on the boat when it starts to sink up until the end. That would be friggin terrifying.

    2. Midnight Express - when Billy goes absolutely ballistic on Rifki.

    3. American History X - when Danny and Derek eventually find themselves and start taking down all the anti-semetic posters. Pretty dramatic

    4. Carlito's Way - Grand Central Station chase scene -- "Remember me? Benny Blanco from the Bronx..."

    To be continued.

Yeah, Aliens, the battle with the queen, or when they first see 'her'. That's a great scene.

Also the end of Alien, when Ripley is running to the shuttle with the cat.
Alien is still one of the most terrifying movies around, I can't say i've seen a scarier movie in the last 10 years. All down to the suspence and Ridley Scott's lighting and direction. First class.

When Alex Jones gets tasered and dragged into a van by what looks like government agents in A Scanner Darkly....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
