    starting a home gym

alright I want to start a home gym. I am poor and cant afford much. so keep that in mind. I recently aquired a bunch of weights and a light bar. the lightbar is pretty much an olympic bar, but instead of 45 it is 25. is it ok to use a 25lb bar instead of a 45 and just put on more weight? Mainly its because i have bout 300lbs worth of weights that can fit on the bar and they wont fit on oly bars. does it make a difference.

next thing I want to get a dip bars and a chin up bar.
What else do i need? probably a squat rack, a bench(that rotates from incline to decline to flat.) is that about it? I wil def get a squat rack with safety bars since I will be lifting alone. any recomendations on what else I need or howto get these things cheap? tahnks

Check craigslist and the WantAD. People usually throw up a variety of equipment at cheap prices.

We have a punching bag that wasn't too much. Punching the bag and then jumping rope make a great mini workout for "at home"

Depends on the weight limit and how much you intend to lift. Olympic bars can withstand more weight usually.

Your 25 pound bar will be just fine.

A squat rack will be fairly expensive, but if you can afford one, that's pretty much all you need. you can put a bench under it and use that to bench press, and many of them have a pullup bar too.

For dips, don't waste your money IMO. you can put two chairs next to each other and do dips, or use a bench and a chair. Not worth getting a whole contraption unless you have cash to spare.

If you can't find a squat rack with a pullup bar, you can get a cheap pullup bar that screws into a door way for like 20 bucks, and they work great.

Be careful with the 25lb bar. My 25lb bar is only supposed to stack up to 210lbs according to the manufacturer.

Hmm, I know squat cages have pull up bars, but getting a rack and a dip/pullup station would be great additions. Id say those 2 + a bench and youre set for a long time.

You don't even know how to spell jewelry. What hell are you doing buying it? Deoderant, soap are very expensive. I think my speed stick set me back a whole 3$ and last 2 months.

Just admit it. You are 16, are still in school, and probably don't even have a job. No need to lie.
