Part 2 redeemed it for me, I didn't dig part 1 that much. I'm not into the fake ass fighting either, but thats part of the old school Hong Kong style that the director was trying to portray. All in all though I've seen them both twice but haven't really been dying to watch them again anytime soon.

At present I'd have to say Hero was my favorite 'martial arts' movie, which was imported to the US by Quentin Tarantino who removed 17 minutes of footage. I have only seen the overseas version, which was excellent. The Tony Jaa (Ong Bak, etc) movies are also great, although they lack the storyline of Hero.

I really really disliked Kill Bill 1, didnt bother even seeing the second one. Funny thing is, I received both as a Christmas gift.

I saw part I in theatres and thoroughly disappointed with it. The anime part was retarded to me at first. Then when it came out on DVD, I watched it again and it grew on me. However, both films/parts are still mediocre at best in my opinion.

I don't know. Entertaining for sure, but certainly did not live up to the hype, in my opinion. Worth watching, maybe set the video recorder for, but don't go out of your way.....

I liked the 1st one, didnt care for the 2nd.

A lot of parts didnt make sense..liek getting buried after a shotgun blast to the chest, then unburying herself, and when she emerges shes hardly hurt? I just couldnt stop thinking: "ok did the director forget what precedes this scene?"

Kill Bill was heavily inspired by Japanese films and directing. Most scenes were direct ripoffs of Japanese scenes from other movies, and that's where the "fakeness" is from as well.

I liked Part I better too. The second part felt too different from the first. Originally, it was supposed to be one movie, so I guess that makes sense.

The plot was interesting. I need to have a believable person in the part of the fighter to enjoy the flick tough. Whats-her-face was not the one IMHO. It's not a gender issue cuz I've done some weapons sparring with women and respect them for their speed and agility but power? Seldom is that there. On that skinny lil Whats-her-face it ain't happenin'.

Contrary to popular belief, I think UMA THURMAN did a good job. Her thrusts and swings didnt look too girly to me. She actually looked like she knew how to throw a punch instead of most girls that pretend to figh tin cinema.

Oh and I like her fight with the black woman in her house in 1 the most.

She was trained for the movie and did well with weapons. LOL ... you spelled her name in caps. AKIRA are you an UMA THURMAN fan? Enjoy these UMA THURMAN pics and this short clip as my gift to you. She still didn't pull off the power moves though IMHO.
