The mother should be thrown in jail for ignorance.

The house should be cleared of all snacks/hidden snacks which I'm sure he eats.

They should bring in a nutritionist, and modify his diet accordingly.

Put him on a light exersize program, and increase intensity as he loses weight.

yah and i looked at his "diet plan"
It was all like eggs and red meat.

I would like to add that the mother should forced to have a hysterectomy. She has no business having kids.

The mom is so fat she's in a wheelchair.

it's about time that the problem is put in the forefront.

it could just be horrible genetics.

i doubt very much that it's genetic. the mother needs to be educated and supervised. if i worked at the local child protective services there i'd send someone into the home daily at first to work with the woman and help her help her son.

the boy is innocent and doesn't deserve the trauma of being removed from his home but he also needs to be protected from his mothers ignorance. maybe they could test his urine or blood to see if the mother is feeding him junk food or excessive fats while the caseworker is not there.

I mean come on, at least try to feed the kid the right stuff. At the age of 10 I knew what kind of stuff was considered healthy because I read body building books back then.....does this lady not know what a book is or what?

Court ordered. Include a long range care plan with solid tracking handed back to the court. I feel for the kid but there is a bigger issue. The mentality that a parent can do what ever he/she wants to do because it's his/her child ... horseshit. At the first sign of this kind of parenting CPS should help the uneducated or unwilling parent get well. If the parent still takes the lazy way out then child placement needs to be part of the long range care plan ... and used.

One of thousands of children subjected to the dietary ignorance of parents, even skinny kids have horrible balances in nutrition. The food pyramid they teach in school is just not enough. I think that while taking phys. ed. there should be a minimum of 10 minutes each day dedicated to going over what "really" constitutes a proper diet...
